Brides Galore

I've spent this holiday weekend celebrating two of the most fabulous ladies to graduate from Elmira College.  My friend Patrice got married Friday, July 1st.  Patrice was one of the reasons I went to Elmira.  She is such a sweet and good person to the very core.  I have never heard her say an unkind word about anyone.  She was there for me as I made the transition from home to college and I will always be so grateful to her for that.  Don is a wonderful guy, and so very much in love with Patrice.  It was awesome to see them so happy together.

Saturday, July 2nd, we celebrated the bridal shower for Amanda.  Jill & I had toiled and planned for several weeks and it turned out just perfectly.  We had beautiful flowers from The Rosegarten, great food from Wilson's, & tasty/gorgeous favors and cake made by Christine Seibert.  Amanda & George made out quite well; they received lots of new kitchen tools, including the much-coveted by brides everywhere Kitchen-Aid Mixer & Emeril Pots & Pans!  Bedding, flatware, dinnerware, & barware were also given.  Amanda was lovely as ever and gets to be showered with gifts & love again in a few weeks at her hometown Maine bridal shower :o)
Here's a few of the day....(I will be posting more photos in a facebook album.)

After the bridal shower we brought all the loot back to George's Mom's house & enjoyed a few cocktails.  Roxy tagged along and made a new friend- Jill's pit bull, Titan.  Titan is about three years older than Roxy and was just trying to nap in the sun but Roxy insisted it was time to play.  I wish I had gotten a few photos of the two of them together.  They were so sweet & behaved so wonderfully with all the people around- they are both great ambassadors for pit bulls!

We finished the night at our house with a fire & some more drinks as the sun went down.  It was a beautiful summer night.

Coming up today/tomorrow:  My cousin TJ's graduation party, family reunion-ing in Highland Falls, & other 4th festivities.  It's been a very busy but awesome weekend :o)
