July is coming to a close! Really? Wow. I'm writing this post mostly so I can just remember what we've done over the past week or so because it was a whirlwind.
Monday was our wedding anniversary. John took me to Franco Di Roma's in Middletown for great Italian food & a delicious Cosmo. Hard to believe it's been 2 years...some days it feels like only yesterday we were missing each other while living in different cities and other days it feels like we've been together forever.
I've been reading up a storm lately. I don't like to read too much during the school year what with all the IEPs and other work-related reading that I'm always busy with- so on vacations & during the summer, I like to get lost in a good book (or this month, 5 good books). I've read "Those Who Save Us," by Jenna Blum, "A Dog's Purpose" by W. Bruce Cameron, "The Virgin's Lover" by Philippa Gregory, "Water for Elephants" by Sara Gruen, and "Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter" by Seth Grahame-Smith. On deck is "The Help" by Kathryn Stockett.
Tuesday, we hosted what I thought would be a low-key bon voyage dinner for John's JV Coach, Caitlin. She is leaving town soon to most likely take a job upstate. Well let's just say that Caitlin came very thirsty and certainly went out of sullivan county with a bang. Most fun was getting to see the Shamro girls & play a little Taboo :o)
A few days this week we helped our good friend & my former HS music teacher, KJ move from his apartment to his new home. It's a beautiful old house with lots of gorgeous wood working and nice views of south hill. The house across the street is for sale & we've been joking about buying it & becoming his new neighbors.
I've been enjoying lots of walks & lazy afternoons in the backyard with my pup. She brings such happiness & love to everyone she's around. Here she is looking very happy:
Thursday, I spent the day shopping with my friend Rachel who I hadn't seen in a long time. It was great to spend some time catching up with her. If you need a great gift for a special mom, daughter, sister, or girlfriend in your life, Rachel makes gorgeous earrings. She's given me three pairs & I get compliments on them all the time. She has started selling them via Etsy. Link up & check out her beautiful styles!! Thursday night, I headed out to White Sulfur to have dinner & a drink at the Inn with Kevin & some friends to celebrate his birthday. He had spent the day golfing with John & Amanda.
Today, I cleaned & did laundry, but also just enjoyed some relaxing down-time with John. He's been doing a lot at the school lately during the week & I've been missing him.
Coming up this weekend, an early birthday bbq for yours truly, meeting with a possible new realtor, and hopefully some sun! August awaits us on Monday!!
