I can't believe how lucky I am- not only to have found a person who I'm so compatible with, who loves me unconditionally, and makes me laugh pretty much non-stop all day BUT we also get two months off together every year? Seriously? This must be against the rules of life, no!?! I thank both our mothers for encouraging us to get into public education :o)
John & I have had a wonderful summer kick-off weekend. Friday was our last day of school- it was a staff-only day for yours truly and a half-day with kids for John. After our superintendent at Liberty let us out at noon, my friend Brea & I had a delicious lunch at Yiasou Cafe. I came home, put in a good Jillian workout & then we headed to my parents house. We celebrated the end of the school year with some other teachers who needed to quench their thirst, namely my mom, the Swarthouts, and Mr. Kevin Clifford. My summer starter drink? Vodka lemonade of course...and Kevin brought some delicious Mike's Hard Strawberry that I'll have to add to my summer cocktail repertoire as well.
Saturday was graduation. My cousin, Kevin Krom, graduated, along with John's only senior basketball player, Jakki, & a few kids I used to babysit- Emma & Tyler (wow I feel old). Here's a few shots of them enjoying their big day in Tri-Valley's bea-utiful theatre.

Saturday afternoon we went to Hastings Drive to celebrate Kevin's graduation with the Krom-Mickelson clan. I was thrilled to see my cousin Nicki there & hear the details of how she got engaged :o) She is such a beautiful person inside and out and I am so happy for her. I also got to catch up with other family I hadn't seen in a while. It was a beautiful day.
Today, John & I sojourned to Kingston to make a few returns and stock up on some staples for summer. I managed to get out with the dog twice this weekend, but I'm thinking she needs a doggie play date soon. I will have to call Tasha soon so that Luke & Rox can have a little reunion! And perhaps it's time for Roxy to meet my friend Ellie's dog, Tuck. Either way, she needs some play time. Time to do some laundry, clean & get ready for a very busy week!!
Happy Summer, everyone!!
