Birthdays Abound

Over the course of the past week or so we've had some serious birthday celebrating 'round these parts.  My two fur babies have turned 6 (Riley) & 4 (Roxy) and my sister Amanda turned 25.  We turned it into a reason to celebrate all weekend :o)

Friday, Amanda started her birthday bash weekend with golf & lunch with John and Kevin.  The three of them have been golfing once a week all summer and I know John has really been enjoying it.  I usually spend that time cleaning, reading books, or catching up on some of my favorite blogs; but this Friday I spent it dogsitting Luca and grocery shopping for birthday fun.  Despite the 95 degree weather Friday afternoon, I baked my sister's favorite cookies & cupcakes.  Friday evening, we had a little birthday celebration for Roxy/Amanda at my parents' house.  Dana, Chris, KJ, & Kevin all came and we ate, drank, & "just danced" (wii style) all evening long.  It was a blast.  Unfortunately, my parents were absent because they've been vacationing in Florida.

Saturday we went to Narrowsburg for swimming & play time with our niece Emma who's now 2, going on 3.  My sisters had not seen her in about a year so it was great for them to see how much she's grown.  Emma's newest game to play with Roxy was to run right up to her face, say "woof," and then run away giggling.  It was too cute for words.  I'm hoping to see the Eick's again next weekend for a small family birthday get together for my 27th.  (Eeeeek!)  Today, her actual birthday, Amanda asked to get "fast food wasted."  This entailed multiple stops at Taco Bell, Burger King, etc. until her ideal heart-attack-inducing meal was achieved.  We ate while watching the Yankees & Amanda got in some cuddle time with the Ry guy.  I hope it was a weekend she enjoyed & will remember.

Tomorrow I'm looking forward to going out on an anniversary date with my husband <3
