Mother Nature 5, Spring Break 2

I have to apologize for being a less-than-committed blogger as of late.  Basketball and quarter-end paperwork have been consuming my life.  Last week was a FIVE day work week.  This was like a kick in the gonads after having a couple of four day work weeks and a two day work week.  Winter has been delivering storm after storm for us here in the northeast.  Seems like as soon as we've dug out from the most recent snow-i-cane, mother nature decides to hit us with another one.  I have to thank John for his constant work snow blowing, roof raking, and shoveling.  Roxy & I like to go outside while he's working and run-a-muck and generally get in the way of everything he's doing.  Luckily for us, he's super cool and never gets mad at us.

Basketball.  The girls have had quite a run this season so far.  The Lady Bears are now 11-1, 3-0 in the league.  Our loss was to Manor-Roscoe; an incredibly physical and talented team coached by our good friend Kevin.  It was the third time we played them and I think it was a good loss (if there's such a thing).  We had beat the Manor girls twice before- it's incredibly difficult to beat the same team 3 times!  The girls were able to bounce back and have won the next two since then.  For some thorough coverage of John's Coaches vs. Cancer benefit game, check our Richard Ross' website.

FORTUITOUS-NESS, no?!?!

This has been quite a lucky few days for yours truly.  QVC has selected me as their facebook fan of the week!!  My mug will grace their fb page as the profile picture for the next week.  Sheer hours after learning of my new-found cyber fame, I learned that baby Natifuss herself had chosen me to win her mommy's blog give-away.  I will be the lucky recipient of two adorable headbands from Crabby Abby Designs.  I am beyond impressed with Hilary for being a super-blogging momma who somehow finds the time to raise a baby, work, keep an adorable home, and find time for freebie friday giveaways!  The icing on my cake of luckiness came when we got a snow day today- I've used the time to get my progress reports done and catch up on my medicaid paperwork while drooling over Christopher Meloni on SVU and snugglin' my little boy & girl.

7 snow days in the calendar, so I say the score is Mother Nature 5, Spring Break 2....and there's still a lot of winter left.  I haven't heard but I'm assuming that damned groundhog was snowed in this morning.
