snow daze

Today makes our 4th snow day in 3 weeks!  I've had two four-day work weeks and now a 2-day work week.  MLK Day was also in there too.  It's added up to a lot of at-home time.  Unlike most of my teacher-friends, my spouse is also a teacher and we've been lucky enough to have snow days together.  I have cherished these days.  Not only do I get to spend lots of time with my husband (whom I've been missing so much with basketball), but I've been putting in some serious Riley & Roxy quality time as well.

Here is my list of things to do when you're snowed in with a boy, a dog, and a cat:

#1.  Start your taxes.

#2.  Feed your cat too many treats.

#3.  Clean the bathrooms!

#4.  Rent a horrible movie, knowing it's horrible but enjoy it anyway (TAKERS).

#5.  Bake cookies....lots of them.

#6.  Instant message your spouse sitting directly across from you on the other couch.

#7.  Do lunges and wall sits during commercials.

#8.  Wake your dog up when she's talking in her sleep.

#9.  Watch A LOT of college basketball.

#10.  Stay in bed late and watch the snow fall outside your window.

#11.  Catch up on some leisure reading.

#12.  Procrastinate on your school paperwork.

#13.  Press play on your ipod & see how many hours of music you own.

#14.  Keep up with the weather channel's "Local on the 8's"

#15.  Dress your dog up in a hoodie & chase her around in the snow.

#16.  Snuggle.

#17.  Lose track of the last time you attended to any basic hygienic needs.

#18.  Watch "Glory Road" and try not to cry at the end- I dare you.

#19.  Look at your wedding photos.

#20.  Watch Rap Attack on MTV.

#21.  Most importantly, you had better get ready for school the next day just in case you don't get another 5AM phone call.

We've used 4 of our 6 snow days so we only have 2 left before we start losing our spring break.  Hopefully the winter bad weather binge is over after this week!  We are supposed to be headed to Hilton Head, SC with John's family for spring break.
