The Post-Nursing Nap

Reason # 457,696 I LOVE being a mom:  The post nursing nap.  That moment when Mason is done eating (which can range anywhere from 10 to 45 minutes), burping, & has fallen asleep against my bare skin.  He makes adorable faces and seems so content.  He rests his head on his hands and just sleeps.  I feel so close and connected to him at this time.  I feel like my heart could burst.  I love him so very much and am so happy I pushed through the initial struggle we were having with breast feeding.  [Not that I think we are 'pro's' or anything now, but he did gain 10 1/2 ounces in a week almost exclusively breast feeding.  At this point he's only getting 1-2 ounces of formula a day mixed with breast milk in a bottle that John feeds him in the middle of the night.  So hopefully, we're on the right track.]  I love nursing him & it's beautiful bonding experience we share.  I wouldn't trade it for anything & hope to continue with it as long as it works for us.
