New Jersey, Same Smelllll.

This weekend we ventured down to the dirty jerz for Andre and Amy's engagement party in East Windsor.    After a stressful morning looking for and not finding our Garmin, we finally got out of Woodbourne around 11:30.  We hit a lot of city traffic and I was excited to get to drive by the new meadowlands stadium- what a monster!  It's huge!!  After getting past NYC, we started noticing a foul smell creeping into the Jeep from the outside.  If anyone knows what it is that makes New Jersey smell so foul and gag-tastic, please enlighten me.  It's a scent that borders between sewage, garbage, and industrial waste.  I feel like I need respiratory therapy.  Anyway, once we made it past the bigger cities and into the country the air quality drastically improved.

We had a wonderful visit with Andre & Amy, who are preparing for their September 10th, 2011 nuptials (yep it's 9-10-11, how fun!).  They are such a sweet and fun couple.  John is so looking forward to being a groomsman for Andre.

The Bermudez family sure knows how to party.  They had tons of food and drinks, lots of family, and the most delicious sangria!!  Andre's mom went all out with beautiful favors, several courses of delicious cuban and italian food, and even baby pictures!!  But she insisted she didn't go over the top because she didn't spring for the Mariachi band.  Soon after we arrived, we realized that the Bermudez family also has a "Roxy."  I can almost see the resemblance, NO?!?!

We also got to see Jess, Frank, & Emma there- John, Frank, & Andre all went to Kings College together.  Emma quickly made friends with 9-year-old next door neighbor Emily, who was quick to tell us her entire life story which was quite "filled with drama."  They spent the entire party walking around with their purses and charming the guests.  Here are a few of our adorable niece enjoying the party.

Thanks to the Feagles branch of the Smith family, we had a free hotel stay so we spent the night Cranbury and didn't have to drive home after the party.  This turned out to be a good thing, as I decided to go for a few jello shots for the first time since 2002.  Needless to say, it was an interesting night.

Also of significance this weekend was my sister Amanda Grace passing her social work boards.  She is now a licensed master social worker :)  Congratulations Gracie!!

Coming up this week- another 5 day school week, some TV & Liberty sporting events, and hopefully another visit with Kathleen.
