Where were we, you ask? Well its no coincidence that our absence from the blog coincided with basketball season. During the past four months, our household has been through a lot; Daddy being gone more than home with coaching, a hellacious flu bug that plagued us with fevers and vomiting for the better part of two weeks, and ceiling damage that required our kitchen being torn apart and put back together. It's been a crazy time. But spring is just around the corner. Bball is over, and I am feeling like our life is coming back together.
The Boy
Mason is thriving. He is 10 months old and learning, growing, and changing everyday. He waves hello and goodbye. He loves the ABC song. He says Dada & Mama. He loves to laugh. He loves to growl. He plays with the dog. Mason is already an avid "reader." He turns the pages and listens as you read to him. I absolutely adore it. He recently went through a hell of a bout of separation anxiety. It was difficult; I couldn't leave the room or sometimes, even put him down without him crying out for me. While it's wonderful to know that you are this little baby boy's favorite person, it can certainly make it difficult to perform simple, everyday tasks lol! Recently, Mason has enjoyed some play dates with buddies Griffin & Kayleigh Phillips as well as Addison Cook. I can't believe how soon he will be turning 1!! He is turning into such a big boy.
John's Basketball Season
Another successful season for the Lady Bears is in the books. The ladies played some very difficult competition this year in much bigger schools like Burke Catholic and Minisink Valley but they came out better basketball players for it. I was only able to attend a handful of games; it was a difficult adjustment after never really missing ANY in the previous few seasons. But I was home with Mase and I have cherished that special time we've had together. John's girls had another winning season; they finished 14-6 and made sectionals. They lost in the semi-final to the #1 seed Chester. It was not easy for John to be gone so much and of course we missed him like crazy.
Moi!
Well, new with me? I recently helped plan a baby shower for a friend at work who is expecting twins, joined the anti-bullying committee, and am being recommended for tenure! It has been a long journey since beginning my career five years ago. Two leave replacements and three years at Liberty later, I will soon have job security and consider myself blessed to work where I do.
So, now we are counting down the days to our spring break; a week off in late March. We are also looking forward to a visit from George & Amanda in April. I will try to get better at blogging again; it was my New Years Resolution; sadly it took me a few months to find the opportunity and motivation to get it done!!
