This weekend we travelled to Wilkes-Barre, PA for Andre and Amy's wedding. The Susquehanna river was flooding, devastating so many towns in the area. Jess, Frank, & Emma were evacuated from their home- the river was predicted to crest at 38 feet & the city dike was 41 feet high. A few feet off and they could have lost their home. Thank god the river did not go any higher and their house was safe. Andre & Amy had to change the church for their ceremony as their own church was in the flood zone. I know how that kind of major last minute change would have affected me within days of my wedding; but Amy projected nothing but calm and grace. Their wedding was so beautiful; Andre is one of John's best friends from college, so he got to catch up with many people he hadn't seen in many years. We got to sit with Jess, Frank (John, Andre, & Frank all graduated from Kings in '02), Margy, and two couples who were also Kings graduates. We had a great time. Fabulous food, great music. A great to way to kick-off fall wedding season!!
