Yesterday: Speed & Agility. A clusterfuck of moves & progressions that involved a lot of jumping, fast footwork with the agility ladder, and plank work. I enjoyed many of the exercises in this routine; I felt like I was back at soccer practice. I tried to think of the agility ladder as the hopscotch game from elementary days but that only held off the pain and frustration for a while. As my conditioning improves, I anticipate really loving this workout but for now it's mostly just frustrating and painful.
Today: Strength. Today all I used were dumb bells. John was able to use a pull-up bar but I have yet in my life to do one actual pull-up. It's on my bucket list and some day I hope to be able to do one. Not five not twenty; I'd be happy with just one. But I digress. Strength. Today was a mix of dumb bell arm moves paired with squats, lunges, jumps, push ups, and plank work. Very little rest. I liked Strength better than Speed & Agility because I didn't have to worry about tripping over the damned agility ladder.
It's a 30 day program so we'll see what my results are at the beginning of June-ish.
Now it's time to pack & get ready for the NYSSLHA Convention. Saratoga here I come :)
